Making Memories

Well, I realize I haven't posted in a while, but it isn't for a lack of post-worthy events.  I have just been too busy to sit lately.  Here are just a few random happenings around the Manuel House.

First, Bryan got glasses!  Yes, you are seeing correctly, he is reading!  He was trying to get back into reading, but he was having headaches all the time.  So he went to the doctor, and boom, glasses.

Then, I got a curious email about my sears.com order being ready for pick-up.  I asked Bryan if he had ordered anything, but he hadn't.  We were stumped.  I dug a little deeper to find that my wonderful mother bought us a Dyson for the new house and had it sent to the Sears here in Longview!  I was so excited!  As you can see, so was Gannon.

Here, Bryan and the kids are starting our very first fire in our new house.  The kids were really excited about it.  Gannon kept saying that we were going to use it to cook, so Austyn went to the fridge and pulled out the hot dogs!

Here is a picture of Austyn showing off her piggy bank display.  She is so proud off all her piggies.  Every time we enter or exit her room, she kisses them all and tells them she loves them.  My sweet little heart!

We decided that, in spite of the cold, we were going to have ice cream for dessert.  The kids each got to pick their own toppings, and they were very proud.  They looked mostly the same, marshmallows, sprinkles, but Gannon chose strawberry syrup while Austyn chose Chocolate.  Gannon kept trying to correct her because she was calling her sprinkles "sprink-a-lers".

Austyn finally had her first ear infection, and it was a doozie.  She was so miserable, and Mommy was so sad.  The three of us stayed home and laid around by the fire all day.

Later that day, Austyn wanted to play outside.  As usual, she had stripped down to only a diaper, and it was freezing outside.  When we told her this, she ran to her room (we thought she was going to play), and returned with her hat.  "Now I ready play outside!!" she cheered.  Haha, not quite, Austyn-Baby, sorry!

So that's what we have been up to lately.  Thanks for stopping by!

Mommy and Gannon's Day Out

Gannon and I had some much needed one-on-one time.  He was so surprised when I picked him up from school at lunch time, and we headed out for some fun.

First, we went to the movies.  Yep, 3D.  Gannon thought the glasses were really cool before the movie.

But during the movie he insisted that he didn't need them because it was dark inside, haha.

After the movie, we went to Baskin Robbins.   I think he was a little overwhelmed by all the choices before him.  He finally settled on Rainbow Sherbet (after a lot of taste testing).

We finished just in time to go pick up Sister-Bear from school.  I think I wore my little man out ;)

We had a really great time, and I can't wait to do it again!

Pumpkin Painting and Cupcake Decorating

I know, I know...This post is incredibly late!  But hey, better late than never, right?

For Halloween, we decided to let the kids paint their pumpkins before we carved them.  This way they could safely personalize their pumpkins on their own.  Boy, did they have a blast!

After their clothes were nice and stained up, we moved the party inside for a cupcake party.

Ooops!  This is what happens when the  cap comes off the sprinkles!

I think our party was a success!

Stay tuned for Christmas crafts!

Tomorrow!

This is old (note the cast), but I couldn't resist sharing!

Mimi and Pappy's Invasion

Well, it didn't take as long as I thought it would:  Mimi and Pappy came to see the Munchkins in Texas!!  They didn't get in until almost eleven, so the kiddos were both out.  Boy, did they have a surprise when they awoke Saturday morning!  Gannon was so surprised, he got a little embarrassed ;)

Austyn, on the other hand, immediately invited Pappy to a tea party.

They came on a great weekend, our chosen new "hometown" was having a Western Days Festival.  We were able to attend the parade and some of the other festivities.

Austyn wasn't really too sure about it at first, but she eventually let her little self loose.

Gannon was so excited about all the candy.

He spent the better part of the parade covering his ears ;)

For as much as he loves music, he sure hates loud noises!

We wore out my sweet little princess :)

Everyone had a great time.  We even ran into our friends, Nick and Julie Walker.  They have two boys, and Gannon absolutely adores their older son, Dylan.  He wants to be just like him.  When we introduced them to Mimi and Pappy, we found out that Mimi taught Nick in first grade!  It is such a small world!

After the parade was over, we headed out to lunch...Then, on to the NEW HOUSE!!
